Four elementary and two middle school students will compete in the Oakland Schools Scripps Regional Spelling Bee on Saturday, March 1, at Oakland University.

Hickory Wood Elementary 4th grade teacher Karie Starr was honored by the Detroit Red Wings as their Teacher of the Month.

The Hickory Woods PTA then surprised former Board of Education trustee, Nancy van Leuwen, with a dedication ceremony to her and her late mother, Myra.
