Snacks

Students will have a snack in their classroom. Routines will be in-place for food allergies. Please see information from your child’s teacher with regards to snack routines. We ask that you send in healthy snacks, such as fruit and vegetables.

Attendance Procedures

It is expected that your child will be in school on time except during cases of illness or emergency. Please call the 24-hour school attendance line at (248) 956-2690 by 9 a.m. to report your child/children absent. The office will contact homes of each student not called in absent. This is for your child’s protection and your cooperation is appreciated.

Good attendance and punctuality are necessary for students to be successful in school. The attendance and tardiness policy for Elementary School includes four progressive steps for both attendance and tardiness which are designed to be informative and to lend assistance whenever possible.

The four steps of the policy are as follows:

  • 5 or more absences or tardies – First parent contact and doctor’s notes may need to be provided.
  • 10 or more absences or tardies – Second parent contact made by mail and a meeting to be scheduled with the principal or classroom teacher, unless the school is aware of extenuating circumstances.
  • 15 absences or tardies – Legal “Notice to Parents or Guardians or Non-Attendance of Children in School” sent to parent/guardian and a referral made to an outside support agency as needed.
  • 20 absences/tardies – Truancy referral is made to the Oakland County Truancy office.
