Walled Lake Western competitive cheer crowned district champion
The Walled Lake Western competitive cheer team claimed its second district title in program history on Saturday with a record setting performance at Holly High School.
The Warriors edged Fenton by less than two points to claim their first district championship since 2021. They also etched their names in the program record books with an incredible 230.96 Round 2 score, which broke their previous record of 230.72 set in the MHSAA Regional Championships in 2019. That year, the Warriors went on to finish 4th in the state finals.
Walled Lake Western heads to Fenton on Saturday for the MHSAA Division 2 Regional Competition. The Top 4 finishers at regionals will punch their ticket to the MHSAA Competitive Cheer State Championships on March 1 at Central Michigan University.
