Our focus is on helping Hickory Woods Elementary provide the best educational environment for our children by partnering with our principal, teachers, staff, families, and local businesses to provide experiences and resources which enhance and compliment our children's education and our school.

The Hickory Woods PTA consists of the board, membership coordinator, committees, and members. Anyone interested in participating on the board or one of our many committees can contact us for additional information.

How can I get involved?

By joining the Hickory Woods Elementary PTA, you show your support for our school, a close relationship between parents and teachers, and the programs that the PTA provides for our children. As your schedule allows, we also have many opportunities to volunteer.

PTA meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the library at the school. During meetings, we discuss PTA programs and committees and receive updates on what different grades are working on and financing.

Volunteer

Whether you work full-time, part-time or from home, we have a variety of volunteer opportunities to fit every schedule. While some opportunities involve volunteering either during or after school hours, others involve working behind the scenes or donating items needed for a program or event.

If you're a PTA member, you likely indicated on your membership form if you are interested in volunteering or not. Based on what you indicated, you will be contacted by committee chairs when volunteers are needed. In addition, upcoming volunteer opportunities are listed in Mrs. Shannon's weekly newsletter, as well as handouts that may come home with your child.

Hickory Woods Elementary Alumni Scholarship

Do you know a senior graduating this year that is a Hickory Woods Elementary alumni? The Hickory Woods Elementary School PTA is proud to present the 2026 Hickory Woods Elementary Alumni Scholarship! We’re excited to offer this opportunity to recognize one outstanding former Hickory Woods student who spent four or more years building their foundation with us.

The scholarship award is $500, and the application process is quick and easy!

All applications must be submitted by Friday, May 15, 2026. Please contact Shelly Turner with any questions.

Kroger Community Rewards

Every time you shop at Kroger, Walled Lake Elementary earns money! Simply link your Kroger card to our School. If you registered last year, please note that you must sign-up again for the current school year.

Step by step instructions:

Go to Kroger Rewards account and click Michigan.

Select “Re-enroll” if you were registered in the program last year.
1. Put in your e-mail
2. Put in your password (If you forgot the password you set up please go through the “Forgot you password”).
3. Click the “Sign In".
4. Find your organization by typing in Walled Lake Elementary PTA or our Organization number: 84636. Click the “Search”.
5. Please make sure that you click on the circle to the left of your organization so that it becomes highlighted. Click the “Select Your Organization”.
6. Click the ”Save Changes”
Select “Enroll” If you have never been a part of Kroger Community Rewards.com or Kroger.com.
1. “Sign up today” (to the right).
2. Enter your zip code and click “Search”.
3. Click on the arrow to display the list of stores in your zip code and highlight your preferred store.
4. Enter in your email and password.
5. Click “Next”.
6. Key in you Kroger Plus Card Number (If it says that this card has already been used, please call the number on the back of your card).
7. Enter the security code (from the box above it).
8. Enter in your contact information.
9. Click on “next”.
10. Verify that your account information is correct. Check box for agreement of the terms and conditions and click “complete information”.
11. Kroger will send an email that you entered earlier in the process. (this can take up to 10 minutes).
12. Open the email that Kroger sent. Read the email and either click on the link within the email or copy and paste it into your browser.
13. Sign in: click on the “Click here“ button and then type in your email and password.
14. Under Kroger Community Rewards Section at right, click “Edit Kroger Community Rewards Information.”
15. Find your organization by typing in Walled Lake Elementary PTA or our Organization number: 84636.
16. Click on the organization name that you want. Please make sure that you click on the circle to the left of your organization so that it becomes highlighted.
17. Click on “Save Changes”.
18. Scroll over the page and make sure all information is accurate.
19. You are now “registered”.
